No-ip init script for Debian 7

10 05 2013

I develop a new init script for the no-ip service, it works in Debian 7 and probably in Ubuntu too.

Download it from:
https://github.com/rfrail3/misc/blob/master/inits-scripts/no-ip/noip2

And copy and install it:
# cp noip2 /etc/init.d/init2
# update-rc.d noip2 defaults

These are some examples:
# /etc/init.d/noip2 start
[FAIL] noip2 is already running!... failed!
# /etc/init.d/noip2 stop
[ ok ] Stopping noip2....
# /etc/init.d/noip2 start
[ ok ] Starting noip2....
# /etc/init.d/noip2 restart
[ ok ] Restarting noip2....
[ ok ] Stopping noip2....
[ ok ] Starting noip2....
# /etc/init.d/noip2 test
[ ok ] Status of noip2...done (noip2 running).

Note: You need to install before the no-ip client package found directly in https://www.noip.com/client/linux/noip-duc-linux.tar.gz or in https://www.noip.com/downloads.php?page=linux
